Dakota's Birthday Dinner
20 February 2010; It was only three days before sister Dakota's 16th birthday and Elle and her family went out to celebrate by having dinner at Villa Blanca in Beverly Hills. The two were photographed hand in hand leaving the restaurant after the party. Elle wore Marc Jacobs pumps and a Free People lace blouse.

Makeup Look: Costume Institute Gala
Hey, everyone, so since this is an overall style blog for Elle Fanning, I felt it would be appropriate to co-ordinate some of her makeup looks in as well as hairstyles! Be on the lookout for these new posts starting this month! Elle doesn't always wear makeup, and when she does it is very natural, so we are going to post some products to achieve her au naturale look for bargain prices!Elle wore this adorable semi-cat eye makeup look at the Costume Institute Gala earlier this year.
- On a clean face, apply a dab of concealer around dark circles and blemishes, softly blending, then light amount of foundation all over the face, avoiding caking!
- Next, apply an even lighter finishing powder, to reduce shine but still keep that dewy finish that Elle displays.
- Elle's brows are always very natural and undefined, which works for the youthful look.
- Sweep a translucent, or relatively close to your skin colour, eye shadow over the lids.
- Using a dark brown liquid eyeliner, draw a thin line as close to the lash-line as possible, starting at the middle of the lid and working your way out. If you want a more dramatic look in a complete cat-eye, you can watch this tutorial, using gel eyeliner.
- Finish off the eyes by applying your favourite black mascara on the top and bottom lashes, avoiding thickness and clumps.
- For the lips, simply apply a lip balm or gloss of your choice. If you want to take a step further, you can put a nude colour lipstick on your lips.

Douglas Kirkland Photo Exhibition
October 2011; Elle has been photographed by Douglas Kirkland on multiple occasions, and made an appearance at his showcase wearing Chloë Sevigny for Opening Ceremony heels and a Chloë Sevigny for Opening Ceremony leopard print dress. Elle wears her hair in soft, delicate curls, and no makeup or jewellery that will distract from the detailed dress.

Elle Fanning, Fashion's Favourite Star (Daily Beast Article)
Most 12 year olds are doing homework, wearing braces, and navigating the pressures of seventh grade. They’re not walking the red carpet, dazzling in Valentino, and working the crowded patio at Chateau Marmont. But that’s old hat to Elle Fanning, the 12-year-old star of Sofia Coppola’s new film, Somewhere, which opens Wednesday.
Fanning, little sister of Dakota, has been in the limelight for over a decade, appearing onscreen for the first time in I Am Sam at the ripe old age of 2. But this fall, she’s become veritable Hollywood royalty. She recently starred in The Nutcracker in 3D and is now shooting Steven Spielberg’s upcoming film Super 8. This month alone, The New York Times magazine called Fanning “exceptional,” Rodarte designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy chose her to be part of the Lula Magazine issue they guest-edited, and an eight-page spread in Interview magazine highlighted her poise and precocity.
